Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has called for truce between the Government and the opposition.
Addressing the faithful at All Saints Cathedral ACK church in Machakos town where she attended a worship service, the governor pointed out that the country was bigger than any individual and that it was possible for the two sides to reach a compromise over the prevailing political differences.
She said the animosity being witnessed between the two political divides were harmful to the country’s progression and unity.
“Our leaders are capable of engaging each other and find a common ground in order to forestall the escalation of citizen confrontation with State agencies as is being witnessed during the demonstrations called by the opposition,” said Wavinya.
The governor urged the church to pray for all the political leaders whom she said were capable of generating solutions to the problems being witnessed in the country.
She said her collaboration with the National Government had secured benefits to the residents of Machakos such as the proposed sh 250 million Industrial Park in Mavoko.
