Machakos deputy governor has promised to support Masaku Based Scribes Fc with sporting items to enable them enhance their talents.

Speaking during the flagoff of Masaku Based Scribes Fc to Makueni for a friendly match with their counterparts, Francis Mwangangi offered to donate football boots, socks and full uniform to the team.

“I am a footballer too. This is a fantastic move for you journalists starting a football team. I will really offer support.” He said.

He recalled when he was a Member of Parliament for Yatta constituency saying that he is a football player who played for Bunge Fc.

Mwangangi that sports have played a significant role in the society while encouraging Masaku Based Scribes Fc to continue with the initiative and take care of each other.

“You are very influential and your reach is huge. Your initiative will encourage people out there to realize and work on their talents.” He said adding that, “When we are playing let us compete as brothers and sisters. Let’s embrace safety.”

He also said that he was interested in joining the football team.
