Machakos youth has benefited from Machakos deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi’s initiative that targets to uplift the youth and the society.
David Loki Mbithi who has joined Petanns Driving School through the initiative said that he will use the training and the opportunity in executing his job in the transport sector.
“I want to thank Machakos deputy governor Francis Mwangangi for coming up with such an initiative that will uplift the socio-economic status of the youth and across the County. I am grateful for sponsoring me to join a driving school.” He said.
David said that his dreams dashed when could not raise fees to enable him to join a driving school and he resorted to manual jobs to make ends meet.
“I would like to encourage other youths out there to subscribe to our deputy governor’s purpose because most of us would not afford to pay for ourselves.” He said.
A representative from the Office of the deputy governor, Hillary Musyoki said that David was one of the 20 students who benefited and have began joining driving schools.
“The deputy governor is committed to bringing programs that will uplift the lives of our youth. The youth are the gem in our country because of the energy, their strength in numbers and their ability to be change makers.” He said.
Mr. Musyoki said that other beneficiaries of the deputy governor’s initiative will be enrolled in technical and vocational education and training colleges for short technical courses of their choice.
