Machakos deputy governor Francis Mwangangi is currently leading a delegation from Machakos County for a trade fair held at Bunjumbura in Burundi.
Speaking during the official opening of the 23rd EAC Micro, Small and Medium enterprises, Mr. Mwangangi said that the exercise has opened opportunity for people to network regionally.
“This is a big day in East Africa. We are meeting different people from different walks of life and more so from seven different countries. This trade fair is going to birth new opportunities and networks for our people.” He said.
Mr. Mwangangi, who had represented Machakos County governor Wavinya Ndeti said that Kenya and particularly Machakos County was supporting the trade fair.
“I want to thank Her Excellency Wavinya Ndeti for seeing the need for sending a delegation to attend the trade fair. We have gotten an opportunity to showcase our business products and we have also learned from other businesses as well.” He said.
He said that the trade fair will encourage the grow of small to large business and large markets which will create job opportunities.
The delegation that was led by the deputy governor comprised of Small scale Juakali traders and artisans from Machakos County.
The event was officially opened by the Burundi Vice President Prosper Banzombanza.
