Machakos County Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi has been presented with the African Public Service Optimum Award in an event held at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra Ghana.

Speaking during the event, Mr. Mwangangi called on leaders to work closely with the common mwananchi and offer transformative leadership.

“Let us listen to the members of the public so that we can deliver what is needed for them and for their benefit. Without listening to the common Mwananchi you are not able to know what they require.” He said.

He encouraged selflessness in leadership while saying that every Government across the continent should work according to the demands of its citizens.

“We as leaders need to put our people on the forefront. Working in relation to what our people want will be of benefit in the future.” He said.

The conference brought together delegates who have impacted the public in different capacities from across Africa in countries including South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt, Kenya and Ghana among many others.
