Machakos Deputy Governor has called on the National Government to build more sporting facilities to enable young people to nurture talents.
Speaking during the official closing ceremony of National Secondary School Championships at Machakos School, Francis Mwangangi said many talents among young people go without being exploited as youth lack forums to participate in sporting activities.
“At National level, we saw the other day the Head of State launched Talanta Modern Stadium in Nairobi. Even here, within metropolitans and other regions that should be the way so that our men and women have facilities to practice.” He said.
He asked other players operating within the country and beyond to chip in and support sporting activities through education.
“Any Country that has developed, education has been placed at the centre of development of that particular Country. Education sector was one of the areas to look into.” Mwangangi said.
Earlier in the day, Mwangangi graced Silver Jubilee Celebrations for Rev. Fr Daniel Mwanzia of Katoloni Parish to mark 25 years in Priesthood at Our Lady of Fatma Catholic Church grounds in Katoloni.
