Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has called for the release of Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu.
Waititu is said to have been abducted from a fuel station by persons suspected to be state security agents.
Kalonzo who took to his social media platforms said that he, together with lawyers Hon Eugene Wamalwa, Hon Jeremiah Kioni and Senator Dan Maanzo were refused access to the DCI headquarters.
“We went to the DCI headquarters to try and understand why the police abducted Governor Waititu.” He stated adding that, “However, DCI officials refused to allow us access to the publicly funded office in order to determine our colleague’s and client’s whereabouts and safety.”
He stated that the human rights of Governor Waititu are being flagrantly violated.
“State security agents’ increasing use of this tactic violates international law and human rights. It is an obvious attempt to intimidate the Alternative Government and create doubt and anxiety among Kenyans who are tired of the Ruto regime. We strongly urge this dictatorship to unconditionally release Governor Waititu and end the illegal practice of abductions.” He stated.
