Parents have been advised to control their children’s access to social media during this two-months long holiday.
Education stakeholders noted that during this period, many parents leave their children in the care of relatives, which can sometimes result in excessive social media exposure that might have serious ramifications on their character.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony of PP2 learners, Early Bird Schools BOG Chair Shadrack Charo emphasized that parents should involve children in household chores and homework to keep them away from phones as they can expose them to harmful social media content.
“There are many things going on on social media that are not good for our children. Even if we are buying or giving them phones, let the parents be in control.” Charo said.

Teachers at the school urged grade one teachers to prepare for learners that are transitioning from pp2 to grade one since they have different personalities.
Judy Ihaji Kindergarten head said the learners have different talents urging junior school teachers to nurture them as CBC system of education dictates.
A total of one hundred and twenty one pupils at the institution graduated and are eagerly awaiting their transition to Grade 1.
