Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi has supported the High Court’s declaration that the Kenya Kwanza coalition is not the majority in the National Assembly.
Speaking during a church service at A.I.C Bomani, Mwangangi said that Moses Watangula was violating the law to serve the executive’s interests.
“Wetangula has violated the constitution and this raises issues of integrity. It is good for the Country and the world to know that Azimio owes the majority in the National Assembly.” He said.
On Friday, a three judge bench of the High Court ruled that Wetangula violated the constitution by declaring Kenya Kwanza as the majority in 2022.
The court also ruled that Wetangula cannot serve as Ford Kenya party leader and act as National Assembly speaker, noting the need for impartiality in public office.
