Machakos County Governor, Wavinya Ndeti, has reaffirmed her commitment to fulfilling all promises made to the people of Machakos by implementing initiatives aimed at improving their livelihoods.
Speaking during a public participation forum on the County’s Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP) 2025 in Masinga, the County Executive Committee Member (CEC-M) for Finance, Revenue Management, and Economic Planning, Mr. Onesmus Kuyu, who read the Governor’s speech, assured residents that the county government remains steadfast in its development agenda.
“As we enter the final phase of the budget cycle for the 2025/2026 financial year, we are committed to ensuring the completion of all ongoing projects that were prioritized during previous public participation exercises,” said Mr. Kuyu.
Meanwhile, the Chief Officer for Public Health, Mr. Simon Mwako, encouraged residents to register for the Social Health Authority (SHA) program, highlighting its benefits, especially for those unable to afford medical bills.
He also reassured residents that the county government, through the Department of Health, had deployed additional healthcare workers to local health facilities to address staffing shortages.
“We have heard your concerns about understaffed health facilities, and we have already deployed more healthcare workers to serve you better,” stated Mr. Mwako.
The county government has been conducting a four-day public participation exercise since Monday to gather residents’ views on the County’s Fiscal Strategy Paper 2025.
