Wavinya roots for green energy solutions as she commissions electric bikes outlet

Machakos Governor, Wavinya Ndeti on Wednesday commissioned the first ever regional sales outlet for electric motorbikes merchandised by Roam Electrics Limited, and declared her government was keen on promoting green energy initiatives.

Speaking during the event hosted at Mua View Total Energies fuel station outlet, the governor also declared that her administration was committed to guaranteeing a conducive atmosphere for investors.

“I still maintain that Machakos is the place to invest, and we welcome as many as possible investors to come and set up businesses in the county because we have put in place measures to ensure businesses thrive and expand,” said the governor.

Wavinya lauded Roam Electrics for opening a regional outlet in Machakos, saying the move aligns with the county government’s endeavor to embrace and promote green energy utility with the broader aim of addressing the challenges of climate change.

“Introduction of non-pollutant mobility solutions is the way to go because we have to protect our environment. In Machakos we are very keen on climate change issues and that is why the electric motorbikes will be a game-changer in our day-to-day lives,” she said.

She encouraged bodaboda operators to form and register Saccos in order to enable them to benefit from county government credit facilities such as the Uwezo fund.

Roam Electrics sales operations manager said Machakos was a strategic marketing point for the brand expansion in the lower Eastern region.
