Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has lashed out at President William Ruto, accusing him of meddling in the internal affairs of the County.
Speaking while attending a Sunday worship service at AIC Baraka in Mumbuni, Machakos Town constituency, a furious Wavinya claimed President Ruto’s administration was responsible for fueling the political instability being witnessed in Machakos, particularly in the County Assembly.
“The way we have given you stability to run Kenya and other counties is the same way I expect you to give me stability to work for the people of Machakos. The same people I’m working for in Machakos are the same people I’m working for in Machakos are the same you are working for. You and I are elected, the Speaker is not. You should not stoop that low,” Wavinya declared.
The governor singled out Labour CS, Alfred Mutua, and MPs Caleb Mule (Machakos Town), Vincent Musau (Mwala) and Patrick Makau (Mavoko) as the main protagonists of the current stalemate in the County Assembly.
“We know who is using them. That is why they have brought all this bile in the assembly in order to bring down my leadership,” she said.
Wavinya said Speaker Ann Kiusya has failed to run the assembly and threatened to mobilize Machakos residents to whisk her out of office.
“We will kick her out of office because she is not able to engage MCAs. She can’t manage them. As a leader you should learn to accommodate other people,” the governor said.
She asked President Ruto to respect Ukambani leadership if he expected to be received well during his anticipated tour of the region.
Wavinya also scoffed at recent calls by Deputy President, Kithure Kindiki to Wiper party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka to join the government.
