Women urged to form self help groups as Fred Muteti donates Sh1 million to widows

The Chairman of the Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA) Fred Muteti has urged women in Makueni constituency to form self help groups to access government funds and improve their economic standing.

He advised the women to form self-help groups in order to attract the available financial assistance from the government and other wellwishers towards the direction.

Muteti was speaking at Kivandini market in Nziu/Wote Ward, where he.donated ksh 1 million to some 500 widows from the area to help them start small businesses.

He reaffirmed his commitment to transform the livelihoods of women and youth in the constituency through mobilizing friends to fundraise funds for the two groups to enable them to venture into various income generating activities.

Muteti, who is eyeing the Makueni constituency parliamentary seat come 2027 general election, said it was his desire to see the community enjoy transformed ways of living.

He promised to offer servant leadership if elected as area MP and encouraged the youth to register as voters in huge numbers in order to elect leaders of their choice.

The women thanked the politician for his kindness, saying the money would go a long way in changing their lives.
