Former Nairobi governor Sonko says his Ksh 400 million pledge for Harambee Stars ready

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has assured Kenyans that he would honour his pledge of ksh400million to Harambee Stars if they win the 2024 African Nations Championiship (CHAN) title.

He dismissed those claiming he was not able to raise such kind of money.

“I have never given false promises to Harambee Stars over the years even during my days as MP, Senator, Governor, and now as (raia) an ordinary citizen,” said Sonko.

He added that Harambee Stars would be taking home a whooping ksh.1billion if they win CHAN which will include Ksh.600million from the Head of State Dr. William Ruto and his Ksh 400 million.

Sonko said he was aware he would be committing a political suicide if he failed to deliver the Ksh 400 million he has promised the Harambee Stars players.

The former governor encouraged Kenyans to unite and support the national flag bearers in their quest to win the tournament.

“Let us forget about the one term, two term slogan and throw our support to the team. Siasa ni kama mvua inakuja na inaisha.” added Sonko.
