A Makueni politician Fred Muteti has launched a pool table tournament in Makueni constituency with the aim of nurturing young talent and promoting the sport.

The tournament, dubbed the “Muteti wa Muteti tournament”, will be held across the seven electoral wards in the constituency.

Muteti who is the Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA) Chairman said that he will also provide cash prizes and pool tables to the top three winners to help them start small businesses.

“I will give cash awards and a poll table to the top three players at the end of the tournament to help them start small-scale businesses,” he said.

He added that he will facilitate the registration of pool table teams and players in the constituency to enable their participation in national competitions.

The tournament is expected to attract a large number of participants, with 400 players gathering for the first event in Kathonzweni town.

Muteti who has declared interest in the Makueni constituency Parliamentary seat expressed his commitment to supporting the development of pool table talent in the constituency and ensuring that young people have access to resources and opportunities to excel in the sport.
