SEZA Chairman roots for better pay for teachers

The chairman of the Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA) Fred Muteti has rooted for enhanced enumeration for teachers in the country.

He challenged Members of Parliament to push for increased salaries and allowances for the tutors as one way of boosting their working morale.

Mueteti popularly known as ‘Muteti wa Muteti’who is eyeing the Makueni constituency parliamentary seat in the 2027 general election was speaking in Wote town, Makueni county during the national Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) annual general meeting held at ACK Wote Township School on Saturday.

“It is time for elected leaders to prioritize the improvement of the welfare of teachers by pushing for their better salaries and allowances.” He said.

Muteti wa Muteti emphasised the need for the consolidation of the NG-CDF and county governments bursary funds into one kitty to ensure transparency and efficiency in disbursement of capitation to schools.

The ceremony was graced by the union’s Secretary General Collins Oyuu, Treasurer James Muuo Ndiku, and Makueni constituency MP Susan Kiamba among other top KNUT officials.
