The debate for the restructuring of the current National Government-Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) has continued to gain momentum with a Makueni constituency parliamentary hopeful Fred Muteti suggesting that the national government should take full responsibility of funding for free basic education in the country.
He said the country needed a broader and transformative vision in both education and general development funding as opposed to the control of the education sector by Members of Parliament.
Muteti wa Muteti lamented the current state of projects in Makueni constituency, saying the billions the NG-CDF kitty has disbursed should have uplifted the livelihoods of the local community in addition improved infrastructure, youth empowerment and security.
He was speaking at Africa Inland Church Kwa Kavisi in Makueni constituency, where he joined worshipers for a church service.
During the event, Muteti wa Muteti donated uniforms for the church choir group as he promised to support such groups across Makueni constituency.
