Kilome Mp Eng. Thaddeus Nzambia has announced the disbursement of KSh 20 million in bursary funds intended for university and college students within Kilome Constituency, Makueni County.
The bursary application exercise took place at Maiani Boys High School drawing a considerable crowd of students, parents and other stakeholders.
Eng. Nzambia heralded the event as a significant achievement in his nine-year tenure as the Mp for Kilome saying that education was a cornerstone for both social and economic transformation within the community.
“The bursary program has positively impacted hundreds of underprivileged students allowing them to pursue higher education without the worry of escalating school fees.” Nzambia said.
He reassured constituents that investing in education was a constant priority for his administration affirming his stance that no deserving student in Kilome should be forced to drop out due to financial constraints.
Eng. Nzambia appealed to the beneficiaries particularly those attending universities, urging them to stay clear of drug and substance abuse.
He warned that such behaviors pose severe risks to both their health and academic trajectories, potentially jeopardizing their future prospects.
“I urge our students to remain focused on their studies and avoid drugs and other harmful behaviors that can derail their dreams.” He said.
The Mp also called upon parents and guardians to engage more actively in the upbringing of their children while advocating for continuous dialogue at home.
